Traffic fatality reported on I-35 ramp

A man died as a result of a traffic accident at 7:05 a.m. Friday, July 23, on a ramp from I-35 to Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

A Toyota Highlander was northbound on the I-35 ramp and for an unknown reason, possibly a medical condition, left the roadway, the trooper’s report stated. The vehicle then struck a building at 1236 Southwest Blvd., according to the report.

The victim has been identified by the highway patrol as Bradley S. Dupin, 62, a resident of Overland Park.

KCK resident ejected in motorcycle accident

A Kansas City, Kansas, resident was injured in a motorcycle accident at 4:57 p.m. Sunday, July 18, at I-435 southbound at Parallel Parkway, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s crash log.

The 32-year-old man was driving a motorcycle southbound on I-435 near Parallel Parkway, according to the trooper’s report. Both the motorcycle and a Toyota Camry were driving at a high rate of speed, the report stated.

The motorcycle made an avoidance maneuver and struck the Camry, according to the report. The motorcycle driver was ejected, went across two lanes of traffic and came to rest on the inside shoulder, the report stated.

The motorcycle overturned on its side, slid off the road and went into a guardrail, then bounced off the guardrail and slid across all lanes of I-435, coming to rest on the inside shoulder, the report stated.

The Camry came to a stop on the right shoulder, according to the report.

The motorcyclist had a possible minor injury and was taken to a hospital, the report stated. He was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Camry, a 61-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man, had no apparent injury, according to the report.

A 37-year-old male passenger in the Camry from Tigard, Oregon, had no apparent injury, the report stated.
