The Dr. Martin Luther King Day celebration in Kansas City, Kansas, will be online-only this year, because of COVID-19 numbers rising in the community. Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., Kansas City, Kansas, will not hold worship services on Sunday, Jan. 16, because of hazardous road conditions in the neighborhood around the church, following a snowstorm Friday and Saturday. The decision was made for the safety of the congregation, according to a social media announcement. Members are encouraged to view one of the past services on the church’s Facebook page, or asked to tune into worship with the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection at 8 a.m. or 11 a.m. Sunday on Channel 38-1.
